MY VISION
I'LL MAKE FIGHTING CRIME, FIXING ROADS, AND MAKING IT EASIER TO CREATE JOBS THE TOP PRIORITIES. AND, I'LL LAUNCH REAL EFFORTS TO HELP VETERANS AND REDUCE HOMELESSNESS.
Talk is cheap (and politicians sure do talk a lot), but I have actually accomplished real goals as a City Council member, Mayor and as County Supervisor. For me, it's not about soaring rhetoric or fancy speeches - it's about getting things done for the people I have sworn an oath to help.
With your support, I will continue to do it as your Supervisor.
ENSURE PUBLIC SAFETY
Keeping families safe is the county's #1 priority: I will ensure our Probation Officers, Deputies, Firefighters, and EMT's have the resources to protect our families & our way of life.

REDUCE HOMELESSNESS
Homelessness is a tragedy for those trapped in a hopeless cycle that affects too many children, families and veterans. It also hurts our economy, increases crime, and hampers businesses.
We need to work across the region to find solutions - not just push the problem to neighboring communities. I'll bring together health experts, enforcement, elected officials, non-profits, government agencies and housing advocates with veterans & children's groups to look at successful programs in other communities and find innovative regional solutions.

Government wastes too much of taxpayer's money and forgets that we need to grow the economic pie, not take a bigger slice of it. I will fight for responsible, balanced budgets, protect our reserve funds, and reduce debt to ensure Sacramento County remains fiscally strong.
I have been a leading voice to urge creating more prudent reserves to help the county weather economic downturns or unexpected expenses - without cutting vital services or raising taxes.
I am disappointed that the county did not heed that call three years ago when we had budget surpluses, so today we are facing unexpected expenses without sufficient reserves.
SUPPORT OUR VETERANS
I am proud to have led the effort to create Sacramento County's first Veterans Commission - to ensure Veterans have a stronger voice in our policies that affect them.
We don't do enough to support or honor the Veterans who have served & sacrificed in defense of our freedom. I'll work to identify all the resources available to veterans from Federal, State, Local, and Non-profits - then find new ways to help our veterans access the benefits they have earned. Recently, I hosted the Support Our Veterans event to thank and raise money for Vets helping Vets - I'll work to expand this event and bring together all the groups helping our veterans.
STRONG ECONOMY & MORE JOBS
Our region is inter-connected, and we to look at job-creation across political boundaries. That's why I will work with other leaders and the business community to energize our economy, support entrepreneurs and encourage job creation. Recently, I organized and hosted the Regional Leadership Conference which brought leaders throughout the region together with experts, investors, and jobs creators to share information and help find ways to work together to invigorate our economy.
REPAIR OUR ROADS
We need to prudently invest in infrastructure to reduce traffic congestion (which hurts families & businesses.) We need to connect job and education centers with the places people live, encourage interconnecting bike & walking paths, and focus on public transportation that people will actually use.
SERVE PUBLIC INTERESTS, NOT SPECIAL INTERESTS
Elected office is public service, not a career. We need leaders who will put the public first, not special interests who pour money into campaigns. Before voting, I will ensure more transparency and ask myself three simple questions:
- Does it make common-sense and solve real problems?
- Does it protect freedom, or restrict it?
- Can we afford it?
EMPOWER NON-PROFITS
Our non-profit community tackles problems that affect our most vulnerable - and we need to help them. Help doesn't mean taxpayer money. Recently, I organized a Community Leadership Conference to help illustrate best practices, expand networking, identify resources, and build cooperation. I'll expand this model throughout the region.
